Jan Thomsen earned his doctorate in particle physics at the University of Hamburg — at an institute conducting research at CERN. As founder and managing director of simcog Technologies GmbH, he translated this precision thinking into AI and data products for pharma, logistics and energy management for 13 years. He knows the distance between model and production from firsthand experience: not as a consultant who accompanies pilot projects, but as an entrepreneur who had to deliver working systems. At makematiq he works at the intersection of model architecture, domain expertise and the commitment that AI results must be measurable.
